It was an honor to be selected as the special guest on “The Agent Edge” and fun to be interviewed by Sam Guillen. A Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California podcast program, “The Agent Edge” looks for insight into what makes agents successful.
Sam is a good interviewer. He’s done his homework and asks a broad range of questions, from background and career choices to work ethic and philosophy. Of course, with 30-plus years in the real estate business, I’ve had plenty of time to think about these issues. But what I enjoy most about the interview process is having a chance to re-think the familiar and discover fresh interest and answers, even after all these years.
My conversation with Sam ranged from my pre-real-estate past (Chicago, special education teacher) to valuable lessons I’ve learned about time management, communications and business planning. We talked about the importance of training, about niche markets (such as probate and trust) and about keeping it balanced – having a life.
The 45-minute podcast is available online. I hope you’ll listen!
